Hi,
so it's again time for my English home-reading. As I said in my previous home-reading post, that I am problably going to read over this book, I did not lie to you. That was true. So here I am, have read over ''The Fault In Our Stars''.
First of all, I want to say, that I didn't understand what does the book's cover say, but I read and understood. This black cloud is Augustus and white is Hazel. That idea came to my head while it was Christmas evening and I was like ''wow, now I understand'' :D. Anyways, now I know what John Green wanted to say.
So, Hazel went to Support Group and met Augustus. They got really fast so close to each other, they had same jokes, same thoughts, everything... Hazel lend Augustus her favourite book and they both loved this book. Hazel's life dream was to meet ''An Imperial Affliction'' author Peter Van Houten, who lived in Netherlands. They planned to go to Netherlands and really meet Van Houten, but then came some problems with Hazel. She was so sad, because her doctors didn't want to let her go, because she was not in the best condition for that long trip. But Hazel said, she can do it and there they went, Augustus, Hazel and her mom. It was such a beauty trip, Hazel and Gus went to restaurant and then they walked and talked. They also went to museum and there they understood that they love each other...
They came back to home and Gus said to Hazel, that his cancer is getting worse and he will not going to survive it. Hazel cried and cried... It was so sad, that I cried too. Augustus get worse, but Hazel went everyday to Gus's, just to see him. They also made prefunerals, when Gus was alive. Gus organized it, and wanted, that Hazel and his friend Isaac to talk about him at his funerals. It was so sad moment.
Augustus Waters died eight days later than his prefunerals. Hazel understood then, how much she loved Gus. She felt like she was heartless. She cared about nothing. She was just empty.
''Augustus Waters died eight days after his prefuneral, at Memorial, in the ICU, when the cancer, whis was made of him, finally stopped his heart, which was also made of him.
He was with his mom and dad and sisters. His mom called me at three thirty in the morning. I'd known, of course, that he was going. I'd talked to his dad before going to bed, and he told me, ''It could be tonight'', but still, when I grabbed the phone from the bedside table and saw Gus's Mom on the caller ID, everything inside of me collapsed. She was just crying on the other end of the line, and she told me she was sorry, and I said I was sorry, too, and she told me that he was unconscious for a couple hours before he died.''
I think it is the saddest part of the whole book. And yes, I cried again in this part.
After finishing the book, I was like in some other world, other dimension... I was another person. This book changes so much your thoughts, your world. You see world at another point. This book's characters may well stay with you forever... I read this book over in Christmas holiday, but still, sometimes, I think of Hazel and Augustus.
It is one of the best books I have ever read.
